Skylark Galleries offers a wonderful selection of art from abstract contemporary to cityscapes and sculpture. We also have artists working in print and photographic mediums. Our selection of work includes paintings of London, abstract art, bright and colourful paintings to subtle pencil sketches. We also have figurative and organic shaped sculptures. There is something for everyone at our gallery to suit every budget.

I have been working with this gallery for about 9 years and am very proud to be showing my art alongside some very wonderful and inspirational artists.

Cityscape artist Sara Sherwood creates newsletter

I am now proud to have a new look newsletter: great because I can show more paintings of London as well as links to galleries and art events in London. Also the art in progress images of the trees and butterflies show a glimpse of the art in my studio and what it is like to express yourself in oil on canvas. Skylark Galleries recently quoted: Sara Sherwood creates iconic cityscapes that are vibrant and expressive. Her paintings of London capture the city in a positive light. A great representation of our city in the Olympic year 2012. Her newsletter gives an insight into her creativity.

Sara was wonderful. First, she is an amazing artist and I love her work. I discovered her art during a visit to... Spitalfields Market on the morning before a flight back to the US from London. I recently bought one of Sara's pieces, which looks even better in real life than it does on her website: despite being... an embellished canvas print, it looks just like an original, with the embellishing adding noticeable texture. Sara was incredibly helpful throughout, offering me various options to make sure I got precisely what I wanted, and that I was delighted with the finished product. The only difficulty I had was choosing which piece to go for, as I liked so many of them. Sara was incredibly patient, and offered sage advice as to which one would work best with the colour scheme of my front room. The overall service provided by Sara was outstanding.read more

I saw Sara’s works at Spitalfields market and immediately wanted to make one picture as a birthday present for a friend... of mine.We met with Sara at her studio and had a nice chat about the pic, its meaning and the story behind.Sara’s works have a distinct character, it is a mix of modern art and traditional landscapes / skylines what fits well in a modern looking house / flat.On top of that she puts some hidden signs like angels and stars that turn out represent her believes.It was a pleasure for me to present this pic to a friend of mine as well as to get to know Sara.read more

Sara was recommended to me by a friend who also alerted me to when Sara was exhibiting at Spitalfields Market. Having... already checked out Sara’s work I thought I knew what I was looking for but on arrival I was immediately struck by some of her other pieces and I was spoilt for choice. There was one painting that I really liked but unfortunately it was not quite the size I needed. Sara was immediately responsive and went to work creating a beautiful piece of art that captured the original that I liked and adapting so that it looks perfect in the space. My husband and I met Sara at the Spitalfields Art Market. We knew we wanted a new piece of art but didn't know what.... Walking around the market Sara's work immediately caught our eye and she was so lovely to talk to, taking us through her work and style and we ended up discussing having a piece commissioned of my husbands home town of Edinburgh.
